What 60 Injector Applications Tell Us About Growing an Aesthetics Business (2026)

Between April and September 2026, 60 nurse injectors and aesthetic clinic owners applied to work with The Kay Media. Most of them bring in $10K to $20K a month, see fewer than 50 clients a month and answer their own enquiries. Almost all of them want more new clients, and a third are getting ready to lease or expand. Here is what their answers show, with every number counted straight from the application form.

Key findings

  1. 72% of applicants report $10K to $20K in monthly revenue (43 of 60).
  2. 78% see 50 clients a month or fewer (47 of 60).
  3. 35% are preparing to lease a space or expand (21 of 60).
  4. 76% answer their own enquiries (31 of the 41 who answered that question).
  5. 60% have already run Meta ads before applying (36 of 60).
  6. 1 in 4 tied their timing to a new space, a new location or going out on their own (14 of 60).

Source: 60 completed applications to The Kay Media’s waitlist form, submitted 13 April to 4 September 2026 (53 from Ontario, 4 from elsewhere in Canada, 3 from the US). Counts are anonymised totals. Some questions were added to the form later, so their totals are smaller. Full method at the end.

Revenue: most practices sit in the same band

Revenue was the clearest pattern in the data. Nearly three in four applicants sit between $10K and $20K a month. In our experience, that is a practice with a loyal base and steady weeks that is not yet big enough to pay for a front desk or a second injector.

$10K to $20K43
$20K to $40K6
$40K to $75K2
$75K and up7

Average monthly revenue, as reported by applicants (N = 60).

Client volume follows the same shape. 47 of the 60 see 50 clients a month or fewer, 6 see 50 to 100, 4 see 100 to 200 and 3 see more than 200.

What they want in the next 6 to 12 months

Applicants could pick more than one goal. New clients came first for almost everyone, but booking quality and retention mattered to more than half.

More new clients58
Better bookings and retention33
Momentum for future growth29
Lease or expand21

Goals for the next 6 to 12 months, multiple answers allowed (N = 60).

The 21 who are preparing to lease or expand are mostly not large clinics yet. 15 of them are in the $10K to $20K band. For them, the next lease or the next room is the decision, and marketing is how they plan to fill it.

Why they applied now

We asked every applicant why now felt like the right time. We read all 60 answers and grouped them. The most common trigger was a change in where or how they work:

  • A new space or location (8). A first commercial unit, a new clinic, a second location, a finished renovation.
  • Just starting out or going independent (6). Leaving a contract role, opening a home studio, or a practice only a few months old.
  • Tired of doing it alone, or let down by an earlier agency (8). Spread too thin between treating, running the business and marketing it.
  • A plateau or a slowdown (6). A steady base that has stopped growing, or a few slow months.

The rest gave a general reason, such as “ready to grow” or “need more bookings”. The pattern matters for timing: injectors look for marketing help right after a change that raises their costs, and right after growth stalls.

How they handle marketing today

  • Most answer their own enquiries. 31 of the 41 who answered this question reply to new enquiries themselves, on top of treating.
  • Most have tried ads already. 36 of 60 had run Meta ads before applying.
  • They expect to work the leads. 48 of 52 agreed that ads alone don’t grow a business and that leads need nurturing and closing. 4 thought the ads would do everything.
  • They are open to intro offers. 50 of 52 said they would run a strategic intro offer to build momentum. 2 wanted premium clients only from day one.
  • Most are ready to commit. 36 of 52 said they were ready to invest and go all in. 16 were still testing the waters, and 12 of those are in the $10K to $20K band.

Where they first heard of us

46 of the 60 found The Kay Media on Instagram, including through our own ads. 13 came by referral and 1 through an AI assistant such as ChatGPT.

What this means for an injector’s marketing

If your practice looks like most of these, the bottleneck is rarely the treatment or the reputation. It is the time between someone noticing you and someone booking. Three changes help most:

  • Lead with a clear offer. An intro offer gives a new client a reason to book now. Almost every applicant was open to one.
  • Answer fast, even when you are treating. A simple text-back or a short follow-up sequence protects the enquiries you can’t answer between clients.
  • Plan marketing before the lease, not after. If a new space is coming, the demand should be building before the doors open.

Our guides go deeper on each: marketing for solo nurse injectors, aesthetic clinic lead generation and the full med spa marketing guide. How we collected this

The data comes from The Kay Media’s waitlist application form. The export holds 64 submissions from 13 April to 4 September 2026. 60 of them answered the revenue question, and those 60 are the base for every percentage above. Some questions (who answers enquiries, the readiness and intro-offer statements) were added to the form later, so their totals are smaller and we give the exact count each time. The “why now” answers were free text: we read each one and placed it in the single group that fit best. Applicants are injectors and clinic owners who chose to apply to a marketing agency, so they are not a random sample of the industry. No names, contact details or individual answers are published.

What clinic owners say

Real reviews from aesthetic clinics and nurse injectors we've worked with. Read them all on Google.
When I first started, I was a solo provider wearing every single hat. I was the injector, receptionist, marketer, content creator, scheduler, and everything in between. I’ve gone from being a solo provider to owning a large, thriving practice with a team of staff under me — and she has been such an important part of that journey.

She tells you how it is and tells you what you need to hear in order to thrive. I started my business in a small room and she helped me scale to opening up my very own brick and mortar. I’ve had bad experiences in the past with previous marketing agencies and based on experience none of them cared about your business the way she does.

We worked with the Kay Media for about six months on our Meta Ads, and I’m grateful for the support she provided throughout the process. She helped us better target the right audience, and we definitely saw an increase in bookings during our time working together. What I appreciated most was how responsive and attentive she was. She regularly checked in, answered questions, and genuinely wanted to see our business succeed.
