Aesthetic clinic lead generation is the work of bringing in people who are interested in your clinic and turning them into booked consultations. It works when four things line up: an offer worth responding to, ads and content that put it in front of the right local people, a simple way for them to reach you, and follow-up fast enough that they book with you instead of the clinic down the street. Most clinics only work on the second one, which is why they end up with leads that never book.
We run marketing for aesthetic clinics and injectors across Canada, and “we need more leads” is the most common thing owners tell us. It was also the top goal in 60 applications we analysed in 2026: 58 of the 60 wanted more new clients. Usually the clinic already has leads. What it lacks is a system that turns them into appointments. Here is how we build that system, in the order that matters.
A lead only counts if it books
A form fill is not revenue. If your ads bring in fifty enquiries a month and three of them book, the problem is conversion, and buying more leads only makes it more expensive. We wrote about this in more detail in more leads isn’t the answer. The short version: judge every part of your lead generation by booked consultations, not by how many names came in.
Start with an offer people want to act on
Before any ad runs, someone needs a reason to reach out this week rather than someday. That reason is the offer. A strong first-visit offer is specific, easy to say yes to, and honest about what happens next: a consultation with a clear credit toward a first treatment plan, a package for new clients, or a limited number of spots in a month. A vague “book now” button asks people to do the work of deciding, and most of them will not.
If you are not sure where to start, our list of med spa marketing ideas begins with the offer for exactly this reason.
Where aesthetic clinic leads come from
Most clinics get their leads from a handful of channels. They do different jobs, so it helps to know what each one is good at:
- Meta ads (Facebook and Instagram). The fastest way to put an offer in front of local people who were not looking yet. This is usually where new lead flow comes from first. See our guide to Facebook ads for med spas.
- Google search ads. These reach people who are already searching for a clinic near them, so the intent is high and the volume is lower. Our Google Ads guide covers the setup.
- Search and your Google Business Profile. Slower to build, cheaper over time, and often the first thing a new patient sees. Reviews do a lot of the work here. More in our med spa SEO guide.
- Referrals and past clients. Your warmest leads, and the ones most clinics neglect. A simple referral credit and a retention routine turn happy clients into a steady source.
You do not need all of them at once. Most clinics grow fastest by getting one paid channel working well, then adding the slower ones underneath it.
Make it easy to reach you
An ad that sends people to your busy homepage wastes most of the attention it paid for. Send each campaign to a page about that specific offer: what it is, who it is for, what happens at the first visit, and one clear way to book or enquire. Keep the form short. Name, contact details and one qualifying question, such as what they are interested in or when they would like to come in, is enough to start a real conversation.
Speed decides who gets the booking
This is where most clinic lead generation quietly fails. Someone fills in a form at lunch, gets a reply the next afternoon, and by then has booked somewhere else or lost interest. Aesthetic clients often enquire at two or three clinics at once. The one that answers first, warmly and with a clear next step, usually gets the appointment.
- Reply within minutes during opening hours. A quick personal text or call beats a perfect reply tomorrow.
- Always offer a next step. Two appointment times, not “let us know when works”.
- Follow up with the ones who are not ready. A short email sequence keeps you in front of people who enquired but did not book yet, so interest is not lost after one message.
Measure cost per booked consultation
Cost per lead is the number most reports show and the one that tells you least. Track what you spent divided by the consultations that actually made it into your calendar, and how many of those became paying clients. Those two numbers tell you whether to spend more, fix the offer, or fix the follow-up. Our marketing budget calculator works backwards from your new-client goal to the budget it needs.
What it looks like when it works
Chiara’s clinic is a good example. Before paid ads, her months rose and fell with referrals. Once we had ads running around a clear message for the clinic, the months stopped swinging and she had four in a row above $80K, including her first six-figure month. Read how Chiara’s clinic grew.
Doing it yourself or getting help
Plenty of owners run their own lead generation, and with a clear offer and someone checking the ads every week it can work. It usually gets handed off when the owner is also treating clients and the follow-up starts to slip. If you are weighing that up, our checklist on how to choose a med spa marketing agency covers what to ask. Frequently asked questions
What is lead generation for an aesthetic clinic?
It is the process of attracting people who are interested in your clinic and turning them into booked consultations. It covers the offer, the ads and content that reach local people, the page or form where they enquire, and the follow-up that gets them into your calendar.
What is the best source of leads for a med spa?
For new lead flow, Meta ads built around a clear offer are usually the fastest. Google search ads bring fewer but more ready-to-book leads, while reviews, search visibility and referrals build a cheaper, steadier source over time. Most clinics grow fastest by getting one paid channel working, then adding the slower ones.
How fast should a clinic follow up on a new lead?
Within minutes during opening hours if you can. People often enquire at more than one clinic, and the first warm reply with a clear next step usually wins the booking. Leads who are not ready yet should get a short follow-up sequence so the interest is not lost.
How much does a lead cost for an aesthetic clinic?
It depends on your market, offer and channel, so the more useful number is cost per booked consultation. Track what you spend against the consultations that reach your calendar and the clients who come out of them, then set your budget from your new-client goal.
