A nurse injector in Canada who wants help with the business side has four kinds of support to choose from: a business coach who works on your own numbers, a mentorship that mixes clinical practice with business basics, a short business course, or a marketing agency that does the work for you. Below are seven options Canadian injectors come across most often, three of them based in Canada, with what each one includes and its price wherever the provider publishes one.
Disclosure: we are The Kay Media, one of the options on this list. We wrote this comparison because injectors ask us how coaching with us differs from a course or a mentorship. Every fact about another provider comes from that provider’s own website, checked on 16 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm them in writing before you pay. We do not rank anyone, and we say below who we are not the right fit for.
The options at a glance

| Mike Sherwood | East Sussex, England | 1:1 coaching, intensives, consultancy, mastermind | Not published |
Coach, mentor, course or agency: what is the difference?
These words get used loosely, and the providers above overlap. It still helps to know which problem each one is built to solve, because the most common mistake we see is paying for the wrong kind of help.
- A business coach works on your actual practice. You look at your own bookings, prices and client flow together, decide what to fix first and build the systems yourself, with someone checking your work. Coaching suits injectors who already inject confidently and want to understand why their calendar fills or does not.
- A mentorship usually means time with a more experienced injector, often in their clinic. Most Canadian mentorships are clinical first (assessment, technique, safety) and add the basics of running a business: charting, insurance, suppliers, a first marketing plan. They suit newer injectors who still need chair time.
- A business course teaches the general principles once, at a fixed price. It cannot look at your numbers, but it is the cheapest way to learn what a business plan, a marketing plan and the legal basics look like.
- A marketing agency runs the marketing for you. It suits owners with budget who would rather not learn ads and content themselves. Our comparison of med spa marketing agencies in Canada covers that route.
Clinical training schools are a separate category. Many of them offer job boards or post-graduate support, but their programs are built to certify technique, not to grow a business, so we have left them out of this list.
What a Canadian injector should check before paying anyone
Most business coaching aimed at injectors online is written for the US or the UK. That matters more than it sounds, because the advice that drives bookings elsewhere can break the rules here.
Do they know Canada’s advertising rules?
Canada’s Food and Drugs Regulations (section C.01.044) limit consumer advertising of a prescription drug to its name, price and quantity. Both nursing regulators build on that. The College of Nurses of Ontario says nurses must not reference the therapeutic use or benefits of specific prescription drugs, and its updated practice standards for aesthetic services take effect on 1 March 2027. In British Columbia, BCCNM expects every statement in your marketing to be verifiable. Our guides to the CNO aesthetic guideline and the BCCNM advertising rules explain both. A coach who tells you to post product before-and-afters with captions about the drug is giving you advice that was written for a different country.
Do they understand scope and medical directors?
Ask how they handle orders, directives and medical director arrangements in your province. A coach does not need to be your lawyer, but they should know these shape what you can sell and how you can advertise it.
Is the price clear, and what does it include?
Ask for the total in writing: sessions, length, what happens between sessions, deposits and the refund policy. Some providers on this list publish prices, and some quote after a call. Neither is wrong, but you should know the full number before you commit.
Can they show results from injectors like you?
Ask for stories from injectors at your stage, in a market like yours, with numbers you can check. Revenue claims a provider makes about itself are its own claims, so look for named clients and details.
Who will you actually work with?
Some programs are run by the founder, others by a team. Ask who leads your sessions and whether that person has built or run an aesthetic business.
What each option offers
The Kay Media
We are based in Toronto and coach nurse injectors across Canada over video. The work is business and marketing: where your bookings come from, how your consultations convert, how you price, how often clients come back and what to fix first. We build your growth systems with you in strategy sessions, including search and AI visibility, a website that turns visitors into booked consults, a way to show real results within the advertising rules, your Google Business Profile and reviews, and a referral system. We never market specific treatments. Coaching is one part of what we do; for injectors who would rather have the marketing run for them, we do that too. Work is founder-led and by application, so you work with Vanessa Kay, who spent seven years in digital marketing at Fortune 500 companies before founding the agency.
Published client stories include Bhav, who left a commission split and secured her own commercial space in Bolton within three months, Grace, who went from under $10,000 a month to owning her clinic, and Chiara, who had four months in a row above $80K in 2026. More detail is on our business coaching page for nurse injectors.
Best fit: injectors who can already inject confidently and want predictable bookings, including those leaving a commission split or opening their first space. Not the right fit: newer injectors who still need clinical mentoring, or anyone looking for help marketing a specific procedure.
APT Injection Training
APT Injection Training is an injection training school in Oakville, Ontario. Its Medical Aesthetics Business Course is an 8-hour online course at $1,200 CAD plus HST, with no prerequisite. It is open to physicians, nurses, dentists and anyone thinking about opening a practice. The curriculum covers workplace options and a business plan, legal business structures, a marketing plan, websites and SEO, a module on Canadian marketing and advertising laws, financial management, scope of practice (including the CNO), medical directors, documentation, clinic operations and insurance. The course is also part of APT’s Essentials Bundle ($9,995 CAD), which adds its two-day introductory injection course, cannula training and manuals. A separate Shadow and Learn day with the founder, Patricia Pezzano, RN, is listed at $399 CAD.
Best fit: injectors who want a low-cost, Canada-specific overview of the business basics before spending more. Keep in mind: it is a course, so nobody reviews your own numbers.
Subtle Enhancements
Subtle Enhancements offers one-to-one mentorship with its founder, Hilary, a nurse injector who has also taught introductory and advanced courses with the Ontario Medical Aesthetics Training Centre. Sessions run in Toronto and Whitby. A one-day mentorship ($600 plus tax, five to six hours) is observation only. The one-month full-time mentorship ($3,500 plus tax) adds hands-on injecting and the back end of the business: charting, insurance, nursing legalities for independent practice, supplier accounts, a first marketing plan and the numbers to track. The three-month option ($3,000 plus tax per month) adds help finding a medical director, phone support and introductions to website designers, social media managers and copywriters. A $500 non-refundable deposit holds a spot. When we checked, the page still carried a booking notice from 2025, so confirm current dates and prices.
Best fit: newer injectors in the GTA who need chair time and a practical start on the business side from someone who does the work every day.
Clinical Beauty Academy
Clinical Beauty Academy in Winnipeg, Manitoba sells a Mentorship and Refresher Course for professionals who were certified elsewhere. It combines about 30 hours of online theory and live lectures with a full day of one-to-one hands-on mentoring (extra days are $800). Its course structure lists business mentorship, described as guidance on growing your practice, and access to a network for collaboration and job placements. The listed price is $4,000, with financing available.
Best fit: injectors in the Prairies who want a clinical refresher first, with some business guidance on top.
Injector Coach Institute
Injector Coach Institute in Pensacola, Florida is led by Marlee Bruno, M.M.S., PA-C, a certified master life coach who owns her own aesthetics practice. Her business coaching is a three-month program of one-hour, one-to-one video calls every two weeks. Sessions set your objectives and long-term vision, then build a plan covering marketing, sales, operations, finance and hiring, with action steps after each call. The listed investment is $10,000. The institute also runs injector training courses in Florida.
Best fit: injectors who want a structured, time-boxed 1:1 program and are comfortable with a US-based coach. Ask how the advice adapts to Canadian advertising rules.
Injectables EDU
Injectables EDU was founded by Suzanne Jagger, DNP, CRNA, and Cassie Lane, CRNA, DNAP. Its six-month mentorship includes monthly group Zoom calls, a monthly one-to-one with a mentor, ongoing chat with the cohort and an optional shadow day in Richmond, Virginia or Portland, Oregon. There are two tracks: one for injectors in their first year (up to $25K a month in revenue) and one for owners scaling from $25K to $150K a month. The mentorship price is not shown on its mentorship page. A separate membership with a library of business courses costs $99 a month, and a Core Business Masterclass is listed at $699.
Best fit: injectors who like a peer cohort and a mix of group and 1:1 time. Its examples and rules are American, so check anything about advertising against Canadian rules.
Mike Sherwood
Mike Sherwood is an aesthetic business and marketing consultant in East Sussex, England, with more than 12 years in medical aesthetics. He helped grow an aesthetics training provider internationally before it was sold in 2022. He works with nurse injectors at every stage, including those who combine aesthetics with other clinical work, through one-to-one coaching, Business Breakthrough Intensives for a single problem, consultancy, an Inner Circle Mastermind for established owners and a fractional marketing director service. He offers a free Zoom discovery meeting. Prices are not published.
Best fit: injectors who want commercial advice on pricing, margins and lead generation and do not mind a UK time zone.
Which is right for you?
Your stage and your main problem decide it more than the provider’s name does.
- You finished your first course and feel unsure in the chair. Start with a mentorship that includes hands-on time, such as Subtle Enhancements in the GTA or Clinical Beauty Academy in Winnipeg. Business coaching can wait until you are confident injecting.
- You inject well but have never written a business plan. A short course like APT’s business course is a sensible, low-cost first step, and it covers Canadian rules.
- You are on a commission split and want to go independent. This is where one-to-one business coaching earns its cost, because the decisions (pricing, where clients will come from, when to leave) depend on your own numbers. Our guide on how to start a nurse injector business covers the groundwork.
- You are independent and bookings are unpredictable. Look for a coach who works on acquisition and follow-up as well as mindset. Ask what they would look at in your first session.
- You would rather not do the marketing yourself. Hire a specialist agency instead of a coach. Our checklist on whether a nurse injector should hire marketing help will help you decide.
- You want a peer group. A cohort model like Injectables EDU or a mastermind like Mike Sherwood’s gives you other owners to learn from.
Whichever route you take, the basics still count: a booking system with deposits and reminders (see our guide to software for nurse injectors in Canada) and a clear plan for marketing your injector business.
Questions to ask before you pay
- What will we look at in the first session, and what will I have at the end of the program?
- How do you adjust your advice for the CNO, BCCNM or my provincial regulator?
- What is the total cost, including deposits, and what is the refund policy?
- Who leads my sessions, and have they built or run an aesthetic business?
- Can I see results from two injectors at my stage, with details I can check?
- Are you also selling me products, training or software, and do you earn anything from what you recommend?
Frequently asked questions
Do nurse injectors need a business coach?
Not always. Clinical training teaches technique, and a course can teach the business basics. A coach is worth it when you need someone to look at your own numbers and help you decide what to fix first, for example when you are leaving a commission split or your bookings swing from month to month.
How much does business coaching for nurse injectors cost?
Published prices on this list range from $1,200 CAD plus HST for APT’s 8-hour business course to $10,000 for Injector Coach Institute’s three-month program. Subtle Enhancements lists $3,500 plus tax for a one-month mentorship. The Kay Media and Mike Sherwood quote after a call, and Injectables EDU does not show its mentorship price on its page.
What is the difference between a mentor and a business coach?
A mentor is usually an experienced injector who shows you how they work, often in their clinic, and most Canadian mentorships focus on clinical skill first. A business coach works on your practice as a business: pricing, client flow, marketing and growth decisions.
Is business coaching only for injectors who own a clinic?
No. Several providers here say they work with injectors who are employed by a med spa, who combine aesthetics with other nursing work, or who are planning to go independent. Coaching is most useful just before a big decision, such as leaving a split or signing a lease.
Should I hire a business coach or a marketing agency?
Hire a coach if you want to understand and run your own growth. Hire an agency if you want the marketing done for you. The Kay Media offers both, so you can start with coaching and hand off later.
Can a US or UK coach help a Canadian injector?
Yes, for pricing, sales and planning. Be careful with advertising advice, because Canada limits how prescription drugs can be promoted and the CNO and BCCNM add their own rules. Ask any coach how they adapt for Canada.
Are there nurse injector business coaches in Canada?
Yes. On this list, The Kay Media (Toronto) offers business coaching, APT Injection Training (Oakville) offers a business course, Subtle Enhancements (Toronto and Whitby) offers mentorship with business basics, and Clinical Beauty Academy (Winnipeg) includes business guidance in its mentorship.
